Canal 52 - A Recording Complex specializing in Acoustics for Orchestral and Percussive Sounds

The “Canal 52” Recording Complex located in the ABC metropolitan area of Sao Paulo - was designed and executed by OMiD international audio academy with proper attention to the acoustics in order to host the most demanding drummers and percussionists. “When idealizing the project, I had a very high expectation. As I have worked with many musicians and recorded in many studios in the past, I gathered some nice tips and hints", says Claudio Baeta, owner of the studio. HImself a professional drummer currently working with the famous singer/songwriter Leonardo. Overall, Canal 52 comprises a “combo” of two control rooms and two studios, which are interconnected. This versatility was critical in order for the studio to offer necessary room for the 30-some musicians from the Sao Bernardo Symphonic Orchestra in live recording situations.
Acoustically, the studio was planned to deliver good diffusion across the whole frequency spectrum, lows, mids and highs - aiming towards a rich drum sound where each of the kit pieces (kick, snare, hi hats, toms and cymbals) radiates its own charactistic timbre .
