Garage Studio
Hybrid Control-room and Studio in a Garage
This is a project for a typical rehearsal room inside a garage.
The garage already had acoustic treatment with foam, very commonly misused and tragic for many frequencies. Our proposal was to keep the treatment they already had and to use something that Omid had seen during his research in studios around Europe, using membrane absorption over the foam.
The client had asked for two things, the room should be a hybrid control and studio room, and the acoustic treatment should be something that could be moved to another place in a case he moved somewhere else. Isolation was out of the question because of its cost, and the client had no neighbors around, so we kept our mind in designing the acoustic treatment. The project surpassed the expectations of our client, he would have never imagined that the old garage that he had could turn into a balanced room.
