Drum Session Studio
Home-Studio in a Penthouse
We have never abandoned a project because of its simplicity or complexity and always had special interest in challenge. When our client proposed us to execute his drum session studio in his penthouse, in an exclusive, residential area of Sao Paulo, we considered the project program to be a regular home-studio, with special emphasis in isolation. Even the most sensitive neighbor should not realize that someone is playing the drums in his apartment at 3:00 am.
Anyone whith experience working in a recording studio, knows that it isn't a simple task, and in this case we had an even more difficult situation. The weight that could be put over the existing structure was very limited, the existing walls were very thin, the column of the elevator was one the walls (it can spread the structural vibration through the whole building) and the other wall divided the room to his neighbor's bedroom. Another part of the program was a large glass panel with a view to his swimming pool.
