      Preserving Brazilian Cultural Heritage

      The last living known "pifano" player of Brazil, Sebastiao Clarindo Biano, 88, participated in a special recording session, commissioned by famous Ethnomusicologist Thiago Oliveira Pinto, at the modern Recording Complex, OMiD international audio academy, with the objective to preserve the great tradition of the Brazilian musical culture, the pífano. The uncommon fact was that Sebastiao never had recorded two voices, alone, as his brother and pífano partner Benedito Biano, one of the founders of the "Banda de Pífanos de Caruaru" died in 1999.

      Omid's Acoustic Project Department received a special mention in the monthly newsletter by Biancogres, which is a well known Brazilian ceramic factory. The article emphasizes the importance of isolation and acoustic treatments as part of architectural planning. It then explains, how acoustic projects were usually reduced to buying acoustic ready-made treatment products. Now, with Omid and his team's effort one is now able to use more adequate methods, elevating residential acoustics to a more international level.

      Promoting the Acoustic Awareness Day

      OMiD international audio academy organized its 28th Acoustic Awareness Day, where recording engineers and producers showed the importance of Acoustics in studio recording and musical production to a very enthusiastic group of students - the next generation of audio professionals. The event was followed by a question and answer section, recording techniques demonstrations and critical listening sessions. The event was held at Omid Bürgin's recently inaugurated  Mastering Room.
