Recording Studio Design

Recording Studio Design

The Recording Studio Design workshop is build on sound acoustical principles, suchas early and late reflections, initial delay gap, RT60 and its spectrum, and overall balancing the spectrum to make it sound flat. It also covers basic listening techniques and if time permits, includes some mixing/mastering secrets. The lecture starts with a historical introduction on Recording design (nonenvironment, LEDE, geometrical solutions and the modern shoe-box design). The student will learn how to design and calculate their spaces and the acoustic pieces needed (which could be made with cheap materials or adapted, such as bookshelves) and calculate and measure the results.
